Work Location: SWVRJA - Abingdon Facility -15205 Joe Derting Drive, Abingdon, VA 24210 SWVRJA - Duffield Facility - 1037 Boone Trail Road, Duffield, VA 24244 SWVRJA - Haysi Facility - 1550 Kiwanis Park, Haysi, VA 24256 Summary: The Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority, hereafter referred to as SWVRJA, is requesting proposals to replace selected roof areas of its regional jail facilities located in Abingdon, Va, Duffield, Va, and Haysi, Va. The awarded contractor(s) shall provide, all labor, materials, equipment, and tools necessary to provide the following: The scope of work is applicable to all three regional jail facilities. Provide a complete tear-off of the existing roofing system, inclusive of all sheet metal flashing and trim, in the area identified in Attachment 2, Exhibits 'A', 'B', and 'C. Following existing roofing system removal, provide the installation of a new 60- mil single-ply loose-laid and vented membrane roofing system complete in all respects. This roofing system shall be placed over multiple layers of rigid polyisocyanurate board insulation with cover board. The rigid insulation shall provide a minimum continuous R-value of 30. Roof slopes to interior roof drains and scuppers shall be achieved by providing tapered insulation (inclusive of all required saddles and crickets). Minimum roof slope shall be 1/4-inch per foot, with tapered saddles and crickets having a minimum slope of 1/2-inch per foot. Dead level valleys are unacceptable. Roof cricket and saddle valleys shall slope at 1/8-inch per foot minimum. All existing rooftop penetrations and curb mounted rooftop HVAC units and fans shall be flashed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Roof walkway pads shall be provided to all rooftop mounted equipment and located at four sides. Walkway pads shall follow the previously established roof access pathways. The roof vent system shall be designed and laid out per the roofing system manufacturer. The new roofing system shall be provided with a 20-year no dollar limit total system warranty.
