Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Greenville, Kentucky. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

The Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Office for Facilities Support Services, on behalf of the Kentucky Fire Commission desires to procure professional architectural services and an associated project team to accomplish the construction of a new Dormitory Building at the National Responders Preparedness Center in Greenville, Kentucky. The Fire Academy of Kentucky, Kentucky Fire Commission, and State Fire Rescue Training continue to utilize an established master plan to develop the nearly 60 acres as the premier facility for entry level recruits and advanced training that may not be feasible on most other parts of Kentucky. On April 30, 2024, a new administration/classroom building constructed at the National Responders Preparedness Center was dedicated. Currently a new fire training tower is under construction and expected to be completed in the fall of 2024. KCTCS and the Kentucky Fire Commission now move forward on the remainder of the master plan by developing the next two projects funded during 2024-2026 Biennial Budget at the last Kentucky General Assembly. This Request for Proposals is to construct a new dormitory building to house recruits, firefighters, staff, and instructors working at the National Responders Preparedness Center during trainings. The dormitory is to contain 50 rooms to house 100 trainees. These bedrooms should have minimal amenities and should not include televisions, refrigerators, microwaves, and/or bathrooms. This building will also contain common areas for relaxation, physical fitness, laundry, showers/toilets, dining, and break room. For ease of maintenance, we anticipate that this building will be of concrete block construction and two stories in height. Interior walls should be of concrete block with exposed polished concrete or tile flooring. We anticipate appropriate technology being installed throughout the building.
