The City of Greenville is soliciting bids for the installation of four (4) new Contech Aluminum box culverts off Country Lane Drive. The County crews will demolish and dispose of the old 9 ft x 5ft concrete box culverts. The new 11 ft. x 5 ft. aluminum culverts will be purchased directly from Contech by the City and assembled by Contech on site. The scope of this project will be to install the culverts, headwalls, and wingwalls within the ditch, backfill with DGA, install new guardrail and new asphalt, grade and drain and seeding. Proposals must be accompanied by a five percent (5%) Bid Bond. No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening of bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the Owner with a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond. The Owner may consider informal any bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions hereof and may waive any informalities or reject any and all bids. Liquidated Damages for Failure to Enter into Contract: The successful bidder, upon his/her failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract required within ten (10) days after he/she has received notice of the acceptance of his/her bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the bid bond and the right to bid on future projects for the period of five (5) year. Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages: Bidder must agree to commence work on or before a date specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" of the Owner and to fully complete the project within ninety (90) consecutive calendar days thereafter. Otherwise the Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages for non-weather-related construction delays, the sum of $500.00 for each consecutive calendar day thereafter as hereinafter provide in the General Conditions.
