2024 Sewer Department Point Repairs No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the Mayor and City Council for a period of forty-five days after the end of the bidding period. The work shall consist of sanitary and storm sewer point repairs, including replacement of 8" (192ft), 15" (16ft) and 18" (46ft) sewer pipe, sewer service tap repairs (2), manhole bench repairs (2), and pavement and landscape restoration. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check drawn on a solvent bank in the State of Illinois payable without condition to the Owner in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid amount as a guarantee that the Bidder will within fifteen (15) days after the date of the award of a contact execute an agreement and file bond and insurance as required by the Contract Documents if their Bid is accepted The successful bidder shall furnish, in manner and form acceptable to the City, a payment bond in the full amount of the Contract guaranteeing payment of all material used and for all labor performed. Contractors and Subcontractors shall conform to the "Public Works Preference Project" Act, (30 ILCS 560/1, et seq.) Contractors shall be required to pay not less than the prevailing wage rates on the Project as established by the United States Department of Labor and the State of Illinois Department of Labor. Bids will only be received from qualified contractors. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities, to postpone the bid opening, or to advertise for new proposals, if in the judgment of the Mayor and City Council their best interests will be promoted thereby.
