Renovation and addition to a transportation facility in Ketchikan, Alaska. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for the addition of a transportation facility.
The first phase of the renovation plan would cost an estimated $24 million. It would include relocating the security checkpoint to the first floor and adding office space for the Transportation Security Administration next to the checkpoint. A room for air taxi passengers also would be added on the first floor. Among other improvements, a second boarding bridge would be installed. The second phase is estimated at about $34 million and the third at $31 million. The Project includes: • The expansion of the terminal to add a second floor holdroom; • Installation of a second passenger boarding bridge; • The reconfiguration of the concrete hardstands; • Construction of an air taxi ticketing and holdroom; and • Relocation and expansion of the TSA security checkpoint. The work under this scope of services will address Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the terminal expansion identified in the TAP. The scope will also include the possible combination or a hybrid version of phases 1 and 2 that would accelerate the renovation and serve the current needs of the Airport better. This scope of services will not include analysis or alternative development on landside infrastructure including parking. *Project documents have not yet been obtained to post.
