Site work and paving for a civil project in Marquette, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

Marquette Proposed Development - Twin Bluffs Subdivision No Bid will be accepted unless accompanied by a Bid Bond or certified check, as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code, in a separate sealed envelope in an amount equal to five per cent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid. If Bid Bond is submitted, it must be on the form provided with the Contract Documents. The Bid Bond or certified check shall be payable to the Treasurer of the Owner as security that, if awarded a contract, the Bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or Bid Bond will be returned to the Bidder as soon as the contract is signed. If after 15 days the Bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages. Description: Description of Work: The Project consists of the development of a new residential subdivision that will be constructed in a lightly wooded area. The proposed improvements will include site excavation/grading and construction/ installation of streets, sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, and storm water management as shown on the plans, indicated in the specifications, and detailed in the "Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS)", as modified. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. Additional Conditions: The letting of the work described herein is subject to the provisions of the Iowa Statutes. The Work under the Contract for each section shall commence on or before the date specified in a written Notice To Proceed and shall be substantially completed and ready for operation on or before August 1, 2025. Bidder accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to Liquidated Damages of $1,000.00 per day for Substantial Completion in the event of failure to complete the Work within the Contract Time. Payment for the Work completed will be determined by the Engineer pursuant to the General Conditions and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 573 Code of Iowa. Preference of Products and Labor. Preference shall be given to domestic construction materials by the contractor, subcontractors, material, men, and suppliers in performance of the contract and, further, by virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa Statutes, providing that the award of the Contract will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder submitting the lowest acceptable Bid, which shall be without regard to state or local law whereby preference is given on factors other than the amount of the Bid. Sales Tax Exemption Certificates. The Bidder shall not include sales tax in the bid. The City of Marquette, Iowa will distribute tax exemption certificates and authorization letters to the contractor and all subcontractors who are identified. The contractor and subcontractor may make copies of the tax exemption certificates and provide a copy to each supplier providing construction materials. These tax exemption certificates and authorization letters are applicable only for this specific project under the Contract. The OWNER reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of any item or portion of the work, or to omit portions of the work, as may be deemed necessary by the OWNER, and the same shall in no way affect or make void the contract, except that additions to, or deductions from, the contract price will be appropriately made. The Owner Reserves the Right to Waive Any Informalities, or to Reject Any or All Bids, or Any Part of a Bid, and to Award the Contract to the Bidder, Who in the Judgment of the Owner, Will Best Serve the Interest of the Owner.
