Barron County Justice Center Fire Alarm System Notice is hereby given that Barron County is soliciting a re-bid for replacement of the fire alarm system in the Barron County Justice Center, Barron Wisconsin. In general the project consists of the replacement and code upgrade of the fire alarm system, including demolition of the existing alarm system and related cutting and patching. An Alternate Bid is also requested to replace the existing mercury smoke damper switches to electronic. Bids shall be prepared in accordance with the contract documents prepared by the Designer. One prime contract, single lump sum The envelope containing the sealed bid shall bear the name and address of the interested firm and the notation BARRON COUNTY JUSTICE CENTER FIRE ALARM REPLACEMENT on the outside of the envelope. Actual receipt of bids by said time is required and deposit in the U.S. mail is insufficient. Bids received by Owner by the stated time and date of the bid opening will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bid Documents: Plans and detailed specifications will be available by email upon request from the Designer. Bids shall be accompanied by a security deposit in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check in the amount of not less than 10 percent of the Bid Sum. Endorse the bid security in the name of the Owner as obligee, signed and sealed by the Contractor as principal and by the Surety. Include the cost of the Bid security in the Bid Sum. After a Bid has been accepted, bid securities will be returned to the other respective Bidders. For the accepted Bidder, the security deposit will be returned after execution of the Contract. If no contract is awarded, all security deposits will be returned. Other Requirements and Provisions: Payment and performance bonds will be required for this project; also, lien waivers will be required to be submitted with each pay request. Proposals shall not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the date of the bid opening. Barron County reserves the right to reject in whole or in part any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, and to award the bid determined to be in the best interest of the County. This invitation for bids may be canceled if determined to be in the best interest of the County. The General Code of the County of Barron contains various procurement policies which are applicable to this proposed procurement. These include prohibitions against gratuities and kickbacks.
