The proposed project is located in Gila County, beginning approximately 4.1 miles east of SR 87 on SR 260, at milepost 256.2 and extending easterly to milepost 260.1 for a distance of approximately 3.9 miles. This project is a grade, drain and pavement project which will construct a four-lane divided roadway, four new reinforced concrete box culverts, five new single span wildlife bridges, signing, marking, fencing, plant revegetation and other miscellaneous work. The work under this section shall consist of furnishing all materials and constructing or applying bituminous treatments at the locations designated on the plans and in accordance with the requirements of the specifications and in conformity to the lines shown on the project plans or established by the Engineer. The bituminous treatments include one or a combination of prime coat, tack coat, and fog coat. The bituminous treatments also include emulsified asphalt chip seal and hot applied chip seal both either with or without fog coat. When a hot applied chip seal is called for on the plans and specifications, it refers to a chip seal using a performance grade asphalt cement or a crumb rubber asphalt as the bituminous material. This work consists of furnishing all necessary equipment, materials, labor to remove of all existing equipment and materials associated with the existing at-grade elk crossing near EB SR 260 Station 420+00.
