Escambia County Information Technology, in conjunction with Escambia County Facilities Management, needs to connect the Brownsville Community Center to the new Brownsville Library with fiber cabling to ensure the new library has network connectivity. 1. Conduit Installation: o The Contractor will install a 2" conduit from the existing telecommunications closet in the Brownsville Community Center to the new building across the street. o The conduit will be bored around the existing building and under the street to ensure minimal disruption to the surroundings. 2. Handhole Installation: o The Contractor will install two handholes along the conduit route to allow for future maintenance and ease of access to the fiber cable. 3. Building Entrance Installation: o The Contractor will install a 12"x12"x6" junction box on the exterior of the new building, serving as the point of entry for the fiber connection. 4. Connection to Existing Infrastructure: o The new conduit will be connected to the existing building entrance at the Brownsville Community Center. 5. Fiber Installation: o The Contractor will install a 12-strand single-mode fiber optic cable between the two buildings. 6. Patch Panel Installation: o The Contractor will install a new fiber optic patch panel in both the Brownsville Community Center and the new building. The patch panel at the Brownsville Community Center will be mounted in an existing rack. 7. Fiber Termination: o The Contractor will terminate the fiber using LC connectors on both ends in the respective patch panels. 8. Testing and Documentation: o The Contractor will test the fiber optic cable upon completion of the installation to ensure proper functionality. o The Contractor will provide a detailed report of the test results at the conclusion of the project.
