Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Weston, Idaho. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Site Directions: The bridge is approx. 2.5 miles west of Weston where Weston-Fairview Rd. crosses the Bear River. This project will remove the existing five-span concrete tee beam bridge for Weston-Fairview Road (W. 3600 S.) over Bear River in Franklin County, Idaho. The bridge will be replaced with a new single span, steel plate girder bridge with integral abutments on driven steel shell piles. The new 193-foot long, 39-foot, 6-inch wide, single span steel plate girder bridge will be constructed approximately on its existing alignment. A concrete deck will serve as the driving surface of the bridge. The new bridge abutments will be supported by steel shell piles. The roadway approaches to the bridge will be reconstructed approximately 425-feet to the west and 209-feet to the east of the new bridge to accommodate the wider structure, increase in profile grade, and 55-mph design speed. The roadway approaches are posted and designed for a 40-mph design speed. The roadway profile grade is being increased approximately 3-feet above existing grade to provide the required vertical clearance over the Bear River. In addition to the bridge replacement, the project relocates access points to Weston-Fairview Road, provides guardrails, and adds a storm drainage system Question Deadline 11/08/2024 at 5:00 PM MT is the last time technical questions or clarification requests will be accepted.
