PROJECT: Sayville Union Free School District 2022 Bond Referendum Senior High School Auditorium & Cafeteria Mechanical Equipment Replacement OWNER: Board of Education Sayville UFSD 99 Greeley Avenue Sayville, NY 11782 ARCHITECT: Campbell Cassetta Architects, PC 384 West Main Street Babylon, New York 11702-3004 Tel: 631-587-1984 Fax: 631-587-1908 PROJECT LOCATION: Sayville Senior High School 20 Brook Street West Sayville, NY 11796 All proposals shall be based upon the information contained in the Drawings, Project Manual and any Addenda issued during the Bid Period, all as prepared by the Architect. Proposals shall be submitted for the following contracts: Contract No. 1 - General Construction Contract Contract No. 2 - Plumbing Contract Contract No. 3 - Mechanical Contract Contract No. 4 - Electrical Contract Drawings, Project Manuals, Proposal Forms may be examined online on or after Thursday, October 17, 2024. Complete digital sets of bidding documents may be obtained online as a download at the website for a non-refundable fee of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00). Any Bid Addenda issued by the Architect will be transmitted to registered plan holders via email and will also be available online at website for download. Any Contractor not bidding shall return the complete printed set of documents in good, usable condition prior to the bid date in order to receive their bid deposit. Any contractor not bidding who returns the bid documents after the bid date shall forfeit their bid deposit. Bidders requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with Madison Lohrius and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. All questions regarding this project shall be in writing and shall be directed to the Architect. The Architect will respond to the questions in the form of an Addendum. To allow time for the distribution of an addendum, the last day for questions shall be Monday, October 28, 2024. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond made payable to the Board of Education, Sayville Union Free School District in the amount of not less than ten (10%) percent of the amount of bid. This must be deposited by each bidder with his bid as guarantee that in the event the contract is awarded to him, he will, within fifteen (15) days after written notification of such award or intent to award, execute the contract and furnish the performance and payment bonds with a surety satisfactory to the Board of Education. Upon failure to do so, the bidder shall forfeit the deposit (Certified Check or Bid Bond) or an amount equal thereto, as liquidated damages. Acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of these requirements by the bidder. The Certified Checks or Bid Bonds will be returned when the Board of Education has approved the executed contract or rejected all bids. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred twenty-five (125%) percent of the accepted bids, guaranteeing performance according to Specifications and the Payment of all obligations arising thereunder. The bidder will also be required to show to the Board of Education that he is carrying Workmen's Compensation Insurance as required by law, and all other insurance in an amount not less than specified under Section 00652. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or the proposal will be rejected within sixty (60) days of the date of the opening of proposals, subject, however, to the discretionary right reserved by the Board of Education to waive any informalities in, or to reject any or all proposals and to advertise for new proposals, if, in its opinion, the best interest of the District will thereby be promoted. All bids will be held firm by the Board of Education for sixty (60) days after formal opening thereof and no bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days pending the decision of the Board, except for clerical mistake pursuant to the requirement of General Municipal Law 103.
