The general scope of work for this project included in the base bid and bid alternate is the rehabilitation and/or replacement of 6", 8", 10", 12", 14", 16", and 20" sewer mains by the following methods: o Approximately 35,089 LF by cured in place pipe (CIPP) lining Also included in the scope of work is the rehabilitation or replacement of approximately 619 laterals and installation of approximately 605 top hats and 248 cleanouts, and removal and replacement of approximately 6 flush holes. The successful bidder will have 267 calendar days to substantially complete the project from the Notice to Proceed. The estimated cost of construction for the Base Bid $4,400,000. The estimated cost of construction for the Bid Alternate is $780,000. Any bids received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids shall be returned unopened. Each bid shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by a certified check or bidder's bond, made payable to the Owner, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid The contract documents that the successful bidder must submit within ten (10) days of notification of award include, but are not limited to, a payment bond in an amount of at least 100 percent of the amount payable by the terms of the project contract and that satisfies the requirements of California Civil Code Section 3248, and a performance bond in an amount of at least 100 percent of the amount payable by the terms of the contract, and a maintenance bond in an amount of at least ten (10) percent of the amount payable by terms of the contract. The Owner reserves the sole right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in a bid. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for the opening thereof. The Bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of bid opening. Other miscellaneous work including bypass pumping, site restoration, pavement restoration, potholing, and traffic control.
