THE AMOUNT OF THE BID FOR THE PURPOSES OF AWARD WILL BE THE TOTAL OF THE AMOUNT OF THE BASE BID ITEM PLUS BID ALTERNATE 1. Approximate cost of construction Base Bid plus Bid Alternate 1: $7,200,000 No bids will be received unless made on the Bid Proposal and Schedule form provided in the Project Manual. IME FOR BEGINNING AND COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor shall begin Work no later than five Working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed (which may be hand delivered or sent by email). The Contractor shall complete all the Work on the Project within 120 working days after the beginning date specified in the Notice to Proceed. Work shall be substantially complete by August 1, 2025. All bids shall be accompanied by cash, a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check payable to the City of Walnut Creek in an amount equal to 10% of the total amount bid. Upon award of the contract, the successful Bidder shall furnish a bond for faithful performance in the amount of 100% of the total bid; the successful Bidder shall also furnish a bond to secure the payment of all claims for labor and material in the amount of 100% of the total bid. Retention: The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the public agency, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City or an escrow agent in accordance with Public Contract Code Section 22300.
