Demolition, site work and new construction of a library in Boston, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 8,600-square-foot, one-story above grade library; for the construction of a 14,790-square-foot, two-story above grade library; and for site work for a library.
This project has prequalified firms that submitted Statements of Qualifications per the prior advertisement. This project is not seeking new bidders. A list of prequalified Sub-Bidders and General Contractors will be available in the Bid Documents, posted to the FTP Site, and available upon request at bid.info@boston.gov. Required Sub-trades: Masonry, Misc. Ornamental, Acoustical Tile, Roofing and Flashing, Painting, Glass & Glazing, Metal Windows, Fire Protection, Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical. The scope of work is further detailed in the specifications; the construction of a new 14,790 square foot, two-story building to replace the existing single-story 1960's era 8,600 square foot library, which will be demolished. All bids must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond deposit of the amount bid. A performance bond and labor and materials payment bond satisfactory to the Awarding Authority in the sum of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder. Deadline for questions has been extended to: November 1, 2024 at 12 p.m., QUESTIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE. All questions must be submitted in writing directly to bid.info@boston.gov. Expected contract duration is for 486 days.
