As of December 23, 2024 project was awarded to Haren Contracting LLC, awarded amount is $34,847.60 The project will offer special education students the opportunity to immerse themselves in day-to-day tasks experienced in life after high school. It will offer courses in basic meal preparation, setting a dining room table, maintaining a clean living space, basic home repair, interior design, budgeting, and farm-to-table cooking from an on-site garden. Other students from different departments and interest areas will assist with the house as well, in design, upkeep, improvements and maintenance. Bid preference will be given to those who are able to see the educational value of the ILH and are willing to donate most, if not all, of the labor and materials. The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation Is a 501(c)(3) organization.
