Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Tracy, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 61,300-square-foot, two-story above grade fitness / recreation center; and for site work for a fitness / recreation center.

The City of Tracy is requesting proposals in consideration of original artworks at the Multi-Generational Recreation Center (MGRC) in El Pescadero Park at 301 W Grant Line Rd. in Tracy, CA. This new 61,300-square foot, two-story building will include a variety of recreational and community amenities, located within a renovated 14.62-acre public park. Works in a variety of media and forms will be considered for up to five prioritized projects. Artists/Designers may submit up to a maximum of two total proposals. Artists/Designers may opt to submit one or two proposals for any one location, or one or two proposals for any combination or all five locations. Artists/Designers should consider civic functions, architecture, environment, and the facility and park use by the public and the City of Tracy. To assist Artists/Designers in these considerations, the following themes and components have been identified as important to the success of the projects: Concepts of generational time, growth and knowledge as universal experiences Large-format, durable and low maintenance mural, relief sculpture or sculpture Works able to be viewed both up close and from afar in a park environment Incorporation of natural and/or electric lighting elements or components Surrounding park landscaping and/or facility architectural elements Any questions should be directed to William Wilson, Cultural Arts Supervisor, in the Cultural Arts Division, at 209-831-6299 or by email william.wilson@cityoftracy.org.
