Renovation of an educational facility in Lynn, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Project Consists of but Not Limited to: Removal and Replacement of Existing Windows With New Window Systems. Brick and Sill Masonry Repairs. Concrete Repair Around Window Openings at Foundation. Structural Steel Repairs at Window Openings Replacement of Rear Main Entrance Door and Accessories With Ada Requirements and Security System. General Bids and Sub-bids Shall Be Accompanied by a Bid Deposit That is Not Less Than Five (5%) of the Greatest Possible Bid Amount (Considering All Alternates) and Made Payable to the City of Lynn. Filed Sub-bidders Must Be Dcamm Certified for the Trades Listed Below and Bidders Must Include a Current Dcamm Sub-bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a Signed Dcamm Sub-bidder's Update Statement. Trades Masonry Acoustical Tile Painting Heating / Ventilating / Air-conditioning (Hvac) General Bids and Sub-bids Shall Be Accompanied by a Bid Deposit That is Not Less Than Five (5%) of the Greatest Possible Bid Amount (Including All Alternates), and Made Payable to the City of Lynn. Note: a Bid Deposit is Not Required for Projects Advertised Under $50,000. Question Deadline 11/08/2024 at 2:00 PM ET All Bidding Requests for Information (Rfis) Shall Be Submitted Online The Work is Estimated to Cost $4,000,000.00. Bids Are Subject to M.g.l. C.149 44a-j & to Minimum Wage Rates as Required by M.g.l. C.149 26 to 27h Inclusive. This Project is Being Electronically Bid and Hard Copy Bids Will Not Be Accepted. Please Review the Instructions in the Bid Documents on How to Register as an Electronic Bidder. All Bids Shall Be Submitted Online at online and Received No Later Than the Date and Time Specified. General Bidders Must Be Certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (Dcamm) in the Following Category of Work, Doors and Windows, and Must Submit a Current Dcamm Certificate of Eligibility and Signed Dcamm Prime/general Contractor Update Statement. The Bidder Agrees That Its Bid Shall Be Good and May Not Be Withdrawn for a Period of 30 Days (Saturdays, Sundays, and Legal Holidays Excluded) After the Opening of the Bids. The Town Reserves the Right to Waive Any Informalities, to Accept or Reject, in Whole or in Part Any or All Bids, or Take Whatever Other Action May Be Deemed to Be in the Best Interest of the Town. The Cost for Labor & Materials Payment Bond and Contract Price Performance Bond Shall Be Included With the Bid Price and Shall Be for One Hundred Percent (100%) of Contract Price. Selection of the Contractor Will Be Based Upon Bidder Qualifications, Including Evidence of Past Performance in Similar Projects, and Bid Price and as Outlined in the Bid Documents. The Contract Will Be Awarded to the Bidder Deemed by the Awarding Authority to Be the Lowest Responsible and Eligible Bidder. The Project consists of but not limited to: Removal and replacement of existing windows with new window systems. Brick and sill masonry repairs. Concrete repair around window openings at foundation. Structural steel repairs at window openings Replacement of rear main entrance door and accessories with ADA requirements and security system. Base Bid: Work in this Contract shall include but is not limited to the following items. 1. Remove and replace all windows noted in the drawings back to sound rough opening blocking. Install new P.T. blocking (as required), flashing, and window systems. 2. Remove and install new louver vents in window frames. Coordinate reconnection of louvers to existing ductwork. 3. Remove ACT at window types A, A1, and B. Install new ACT track as required to align with intermediate mullion and replace the first row of tile adjacent to windows. 4. Contractor to abate caulking containing asbestos and lead based paint at all window openings. Contractor to follow OSHA and EPA requirements for both windows and doors. 5. Wire brush, prime and paint all steel lintels at exposed faces during construction. Exclude windows on south elevation on the first and second floor window type A and B. 6. Wire brush, prime and paint columns and connections at windows noted in drawings. 7. Patch columns noted in structural details. Prime and paint. 8. Install new poplar wood trim at window surrounds. Prime and paint all interior wood finishes. Carry interior wood trim 6" above ACT ceiling at ACT locations only. 9. Rebuild deteriorated brick masonry as noted in the drawings. 10. Rebuild deteriorated terracotta back-up wall as noted in the drawings. 11. Replace concrete sills with new precast sill segments where required. Segments match existing length of segment to be replaced. Provide sealant and closed cell backer rod at joints. 12. Patch concrete around window openings at basement level as noted in the drawings. 13. Remove and replace rear main entrance door back to the masonry opening and install new blocking (as required), flashing, and insulated metal door assembly (including transom and side lites) as noted in drawings. 14. Coordinate new ADA door accessories and integration with security system. Security and alarm systems by Owner' s 2 vendors. GC to coordinate with Security and Alarm Venders as needed to compete work. 15. Scrape, prime and paint metal doors as indicated in drawings. Provide new weather stripping.
