Description: Project Introduction Barton County, Kansas, is soliciting proposals for trash hauling service to the Courthouse and other County business offices for a one-year period (2025), with the option to renew for a period to two years. Successful hauler must be licensed by the City of Great Bend. Project Requirements Trash is currently collected on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at most locations and collected Monday through Saturday at the Sheriff's Office. Great Bend addresses include the Courthouse (1400 Main), the Sheriff's Office and Detention Center (1408 Kansas), Health Department (1300 Kansas), Barton County Office Building (1806 - 12th), Road and Bridge (2401 - 7th) and Noxious Weed (2300 - 6th). The successful vendor will be expected to provide a dumpster and collect trash at each location on the days listed for one year beginning January 1, 2025, with the option to renew the contract each year for two additional years. Vendors shall submit a proposal in writing indicating the collection time and place and stating the monthly amount to be charged Barton County. Vendors are required to provide proof of insurance indicating liability limits of no less than $500,000 per occurrence. Successful vendor will be required to sign a form provided by the County's insurance carrier that the vendor is an independent contractor and not an employee of Barton County. Bids not containing proof of insurance will be rejected. Suggested bid form follows on final page of this RFP. Award It is anticipated that the Commission will review bids on November 5th, 2024 and award at their next regular agenda meeting. Other For bid projects totaling over $5,000.00, contractor must provide a copy of (their) non-discrimination policy along with RFP submission. For bid projects totaling over $100,000.00, a performance bond is required of successful contractor. Total bid amount must include any fees, shipping or applicable taxes. Fees, shipping or applicable taxes applied after award of bid will not be honored by Barton County.
