PROJECT INFORMATION A. Notice to Bidders: Bidders may submit bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders. 1. Regulatory Requirements: AIA Document A701, "Instructions to Bidders" 1997 Edition shall govern submittal, opening, and award of bids. B. Project Identification: Primary School Gym Floor. 1. Project Location: Winfield Primary School, 0S150 Winfield Road, Winfield, IL. C. Owner: WINFIELD SCHOOL DISTRICT No. 34. 1. Owner's Representative: Ms. Lisa Honaker, Director of Business Services/CSBO, 630-909-4905. D. Architect: FGM Architects Inc, 1211 West 22nd Street, Suite 700, Oak Brook, IL 60523. 1. Architect's Representative: Mr. Brian Ogle, tel. (630) 368-8327, email: brianogle@fgmarchitects.com E. Project Description: Project consists of the replacement of existing VCT Gym flooring with indoor resilient athletic flooring and associated concrete floor slab repair work at Primary School. There will be an alternate to replace the existing wall mounted gym pads as indicated in the Bid Documents. F. Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work: 1. Single Prime Contract. 3. Location: District Office, 0 South 150 Park Street, Winfield, IL, 60190. 4. Note to Bidders: a. Parking at site is limited. b. Security check-in is required of all bid opening attendees; allow extra time. c. Must have valid driver's license to enter the building. B. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. A. No immediate decision will be rendered concerning the proposals submitted. After the bids have tabulated and studied, they will be presented to the School Board at its next regular meeting. If only one bid is received on the day of the bid opening, this bid will not be opened but instead will be presented to the School Board at its next regular meeting for consideration. 1.4 BID SECURITY A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Security shall be either certified check, cashier's check or bid Bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. 1.7 BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. 1.8 BID STIPULATIONS A. Within ten (10) days after notification of award of contract, the successful Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner. The Performance Bond shall be in the amount of 100 percent of the contract. The performance bond will become a part of the contract. B. The failure of the successful bidder to enter into contract and supply the required bond and Certificates of Insurance within ten (10) days after the prescribed forms are presented for signature, or within such extended period as the Owner may grant, shall constitute a default. C. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities and irregularities in any bid, or to make awards in the best interests of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to award a partial amount of the Work rather than the entire amount. D. All bids submitted shall be valid for a period of at least sixty days from date of bid opening; the only alterations which will be allowed will be those approved by the Owner. E. All contractors submitting bids must be in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act as enacted by the State of Illinois. F. As part of their bid, all contractors are required to sign, notarize and return the contractor certificates included with this bid packet.
