Bids for the electrical-theatrical systems & controls at our middle high school campus at 5200 Marion Center Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720 A certificate of insurance naming the (School District) as an additional insured for commercial general liability insurance must be on file in the Business Office before any work is performed. We also require proof of Worker's Compensation coverage with Charlevoix Public Schools named as a certificate holder. The required policies & certificates are to be endorsed to give the district at least 30 days' notice of cancellation or material reduction of insurance coverage. The preferred General Liability insurance limit is $1,000,000. If you do not have this limit, please send a letter of explanation detailing the reasons you feel your limits are appropriate. All bids must include a Bid Security for five percent (5%) of the bid amount payable to the Charlevoix Public Schools (CPS) in either the form of a certified bank check or bid bond. If awarded the Contract, the awarded bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price. Envelopes shall be sealed and marked Theatrical Systems & Controls. All proposals shall be made in accordance with Bidding Documents. Sealed bids are to be labeled as "Theatrical Systems & Controls." Responses are to be mailed or hand-delivered to the attention of Mike Ritter, Charlevoix Public Schools Central Office, 104 E. St. Mary's Drive, Charlevoix, Ml 49720. Responses must be received in the Central Office no later than 2 pm., November 1, 2024. Public bid opening will commence immediately after the deadline at 11:01 am at the Central Office. The Charlevoix Public School District reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities which it deems to be in the best interest of Charlevoix Public School District, and right to award the contract to other than the lowest bidder. It is understood that the bid security shall be retained as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, by the CPS district if the bidder withdraws the bid after being awarded the Contract, fails to enter into a Contract for 3 performances in conformity with the provisions of the RFP or fails to furnish the required Performance and Payment Bonds within fourteen (14) days of receipt of Notice of Award. The Owner will have the right to retain the Bid Security of bidders to whom an award is being considered until either: a) The Contract has been executed and bonds have been furnished, b) The specified time has elapsed so that bids may be withdrawn, or c) All bids have been rejected.
