Renovation of a library in South Orange, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
All requests for interpretations shall be made in writing, addressed to the Purchasing Agent below. The deadline to submit questions will be Thursday November 14, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Ellen Foye Malgieri, QPA Purchasing Agent, South Orange Village ellen@southorange.org The bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, or bid bond in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00. If the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, they will, within twenty- one (21) days after the date of the Notice of Award, execute such Contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond. Upon failure to do so, they shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the Bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. The bid must be accompanied by a Certificate from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey, guaranteeing that if the Proposal of the Bidder is accepted, they will furnish a Performance Bond in the face amount of the bid and the acceptance of the bid is contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. All bidders are required to comply with the requirements of the N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq. An Initial Project Workforce Report will be required from the successful contractor. (Form AA-201). All contractors named in this proposal, shall possess a valid Public Works Contractor's Registration Certificate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq., at the time the proposal is received by South Orange Village and shall submit same prior to award, or as otherwise required by applicable law. The bid package also includes other documents to be completed and returned with the bid. Failure to comply with Instructions to Bidders and to complete and submit all required forms, may be cause for disqualification of the bidder and/or rejection of the bid. The South Orange Village reserves the right to waive any minor informali- ties or irregularities in the bid received, and to reject any and/or all bids for the reasons within NJSA 40A:11-13.2. The Village shall have a maximum of sixty (60) days from the receipt of bids to either accept or reject them. The South Orange Village reserves the right to delete sections of the work from the Contract after the award of the bid has been made due to funding or other reasons. The prices bid for the various items of work shall not be adjust- ed due to the deflection of any work or due to the variation of any quantity for the various items scheduled in the Proposal. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, effective January 1, 1964. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements The project includes an interior gut renovation of a landmark quality historic building and a building built in 1968, and an addition connecting the two existing buildings, meeting LEED Silver certification in South Orange, NJ. The project will include all new mechanical, sprinkler, plumbing, electrical and fire alarm systems, and all new interior floor, partition and ceiling systems. Exterior work at the existing buildings includes replacement of exterior doors, and roofing replacement. Site work includes new utility services, plantings and entry platform, modifications to the parking lot and additional work associated with site restoration.
