Site work for a water / sewer project in Belton, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of December 17, 2024 project was awarded to TC Fuller Construction, awarded amount is $338,239.34. A precast concrete vault is needed to allow safe access to three (3) valve cluster to replace/maintain the valves needed. The valves control flow from the aeration basin to clarifier structures. As with many of the components installed 30 years ago at the wastewater treatment facility, we are seeing equipment break, wearing out, or malfunctioning. Staff at the treatment plant have successfully maintained equipment to the extent possible but are limited in some capabilities. The middle valve is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. However, the valves extend approximately 17 feet below ground level and excavation is expected to be difficult due to loose soil and gravel as well as the presence of groundwater and underground utilities.
