Asbestos Abatement at David Barton Elementary School The Boonville R-I School District will receive bids for Asbestos Abatement at David Barton Elementary School. Qualified vendors please complete and submit the bid packet at the Administrative Office, 736 Main Street, Boonville, Missouri 65233 Bids shall be submitted to: Boonville R-I School District ATTN: KATIE BIRD 736 Main Street Boonville, Missouri 65233 All bids must conform to and be responsive to the bid specifications and be on the bid forms provided by the School District. The District is not responsible for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete bidding documents. The Boonville R-I School District reserves the right to waive irregularities, and to make all decisions in the best interest of the School District. The Boonville R-I School District reserves the right to reject or accept the proposal or proposals deemed best for the district. Incomplete bids will be subject to removal from consideration. Propose to furnish the plans, labor, certificate of insurance, bonds, unemployment compensation, materials, equipment and disposal for asbestos removal at David Barton Elementary School as prepared by the Owner for the consideration of the amount set forth in the following price schedule. The successful contractor will enter into a contract with the school district. Removal of all asbestos-containing materials identified in Exhibit A and according to the work schedule. Work must commence on or about June 2, 2025. Work must be coordinated with the district construction management team (Performance Services). Work must be completed by June 16, 2025. In submitting this bid, it is understood that the Boonville R-I School District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the district. It is the intent of the Boonville R1 School District to award a contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the bidding requirements. Bids must be on a lump sum basis. A formal pre-bid meeting will not be held. Bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site and thoroughly and fully inform themselves relative to the construction hazards and procedures, and all other conditions and factors which would affect the prosecution and completion of the work and the cost thereof, including the arrangement and conditions of existing structures affecting or which are affected by the proposed work, facilities for transportation, handling and storage of materials and equipment. The abatement contractor will need to coordinate power needs with Performances Services and/or Boonville R1 School District prior to the work beginning. Special power needs will be submitted when the coordination of the work is scheduled. The abatement contractor is responsible for all asbestos containing and/or contaminated materials within the defined areas of the project Also included is EXHIBIT B -TERRACON CONSULTANTS REPORT of Phase I scope and materials that were tested (this report is for informational purposes only). The abatement contractor shall provide secure ventilation. Ventilation need not compromise building security. The Contractor shall protect the district's property from damage or loss. The Contractor shall make good any damage, injury or losses caused by its operations, or those of its employees. If repair or replacement is completed by the Board of Education, the cost of such work shall be deducted from the Contractor's invoice. The Contractor's field employees shall be required to wear a uniform bearing the Contractor's name. Such employees shall additionally bear some means of individual identification such as a nametag or identification card. No employee of the Contractor shall endanger any child, employee, person, property, etc. Upon notification by the Board of Education, the Contractor shall immediately remove from the job any of its employees whose continued employment under this contract is inconsistent with the interest of the Board of Education. Upon completion of the work, the Abatement Contractor shall remove from the building site all construction materials and rubbish resulting from the work. Contractor shall dispose of all asbestos containing and/or contaminated material in an EPA and State approved landfill. The Owner will pay for the special waste permit as required. The Owner's asbestos containing material shall not be mixed with asbestos containing/contaminated waste generated by other entities. Manifests must reflect only material which was abated from the facility. The Owner's Representative shall be authorized to call the attention of the Contractor to any failure of the work or materials to conform to the provisions of the contract. The Contractor is responsible for all costs associated with re-inspections of failed work. The inspector shall have the authority to reject materials or suspend the work until any questions at issue can be referred to and decided by the Owner's Administration and the Owner's Representative. Costs associated with suspension of work, including but not limited to the Owner, Owner's third-party Contractor, and the Abatement Contractor shall be borne by the Abatement Contractor. Upon completion of a functional space, Terracon will conduct a PCM air sample in areas of non-friable removal and Terracon shall conduct TEM clearances in areas of friable removal. Post abatement testing will be at the cost of the Owner. The Contractor must provide for the continuing access to various parts of the building by authorized individuals and other trades. Signs, screen, temporary curtains, etc. shall be provided if necessary to maintain the routine business operations of the facility within and around the facility. The Owner will cooperate fully with the Contractor during the removal process. The Contractor shall schedule their operations so that conflict and disturbance will not be encountered. Drawings of the Abatement and renovation areas are provided with this document. All drawings issued herein shall be used as reference and orientation only. The Contractor is required to check and verify all dimensions and conditions at the site and shall assume full responsibility for the accuracy of the same. Requests for blueprints shall be directed to the Director of Facilities, Josh Bird at josh.bird@bpsk12.net. The successful contractor agrees, at its sole cost and expense, to purchase, prior to the commencement of services, and maintain the following insurance coverage in the minimum amounts indicated below for the entire duration of the contract. The contractor shall furnish evidence of such insurance to the Boonville R-I School District prior to the commencement of services. o COMMERCIAL GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE: $1,000,000 per occurrence, Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability o MOTOR VEHICLE LIABILITY: If the contractor, or its employees, will use motor vehicles to satisfy its responsibilities under this contract, contractor agrees to maintain $1,000,000 per occurrence, Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability In addition, the successful contractor shall include the Boonville R-I School District including its elected and appointed officials, employees and volunteers, as Additional Insured in writing on the certificates.
