As of April 16, 2025, an engineer has been selected. Contract is from April 3, 2025, through April 27, 2026. The County of Bedford, Virginia Economic Development Authority is seeking proposals from one fully qualified engineering firm to provide design and support services for Meade Road improvements at the New London Business & Technology Center located at US Route 460 and Meade Road in Bedford County, VA. Work includes, but is not limited to, Meade Road extension, access improvements at US Route 460 and Meade Road (R-cut concept with traffic signal warrant for future consideration), and reconfiguration of roundabout to accommodate tractor trailer movements. Bedford County was awarded a VDOT Economic Access design grant to perform the project. Question Deadline 12/02/2024 at 1:00 PM ET All questions shall be submitted in writing (email is preferred). METHOD OF ORDERING: The County and the Engineer shall execute a contract for the work. INSURANCE: The Engineer shall maintain adequate liability insurance, which shall protect and save harmless the County of Bedford, Virginia, and its officials from all suits and actions of every kind and description arising from injury or damage to persons and property in the prosecution of said work or in failure to properly safeguard same, and from all claims arising under the workers' compensation laws. Following award of the contract, the Engineer shall furnish proof of said insurance prior to commencement of services. See "Exhibit 4" for requirements.
