Anticipated Award Date: December 6, 2024 The Geer Road Landfill is located approximately 9 miles from the City of Modesto in Stanislaus County. The physical address for the Landfill is 750 Geer Road, Modesto CA 95357 on the northern bluff of Tuolumne River in central Stanislaus County. The 167-acre site is jointly owned by Stanislaus County and the City of Modesto. It is classified as a Class III landfill and is currently closed. A Groundwater Extraction and Treatment System (GWETS) was installed at the site and began operation in mid-2019. The GWETS includes twenty (20) groundwater extraction wells, each equipped with an electric submersible pump that extracts groundwater, delivering it through a common header to a treatment compound. An additional pump at the compound pushes water through the treatment system. A recently completed system evaluation determined that ten (10) of the extraction wells require redevelopment and two (2) extraction well pumps require replacement. The scope of work for this project includes redevelopment of ten (10) ground water extraction wells and replacement of two (2) submersible extraction well pumps. The major work elements will include removing pumps from the designated extraction wells, swabbing the wells, inspection and operational testing of the pumps, and reinstalling or replacing the pumps. Tetra Tech, BAS (TTBAS), the County's Consultant, has compiled design plans and specifications of the existing extraction wells, pumps, and other components. TTBAS will act as the County's construction manager for this project, will provide quality assurance oversight for the project and will prepare the certification report documenting completion of work. Under the direction and supervision of TTBAS, the Contractor shall provideall required labor, supervision, materials, tools, power, supplies, and equipment to perform the services under this Agreement as follows: o Remove, inspect, clean, perform operational testing and reinstall ten (10) existing pumps currently installed in extraction wells EW-1, EW-1A, EW-2, EW-3, EW-4, EW-5, EW-6, EW-7, EW-8A, and EW-9A. o Redevelop extraction wells: EW-1, EW-1A, EW-2, EW-3, EW-4, EW-5, EW-6, EW-7, EW-8A, and EW-9A. o Pending results of pump inspection and operational testing, provide and install two (2) new extraction pumps as follows: o One (1) Grundfos Submersible Pump 10SQE05-100NE, or equal. o One (1) Grundfos Submersible Pump Type TBD (10SQE05-100NE or 22SQE07-110NE), or equal. o Access and flush/cleanout groundwater extraction header, approximately 4,200 LF. o Collect all water generated during well redevelopment and header cleanout and discharge into onsite treatment facility. The Contractor shall check all drawings furnished immediately upon receipt; compare all drawings and verify the figures before laying out the work; promptly notify TTBAS of any discrepancies; beresponsible for any errors that might have been avoided by complying with this paragraph; and reproduce and print contract drawings and specifications as needed. In general, large-scale drawings shall govern small-scale drawings; and the Contractor shall follow figures marked on drawings in preference to scale measurements. Omissions from the drawings or specifications or the misdescription of details of work that are manifestly necessary to carry out the intent of the drawings and specifications, or that are customarily performed, shall not relieve the Contractor from performing such omitted or misdescribed details of the work. The Contractor shall perform such details as if fully and correctly set forth and described in the drawings and specifications. Deviations from the attached technical specifications and construction drawings issued for construction and this scope of services are not allowed without a written and fully executed Change Order approved by the County
