Site work for a civil project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Municipality's seasonal flood mitigation program (surface) entails the establishment of a temporary flood barrier at specified locations along the Snye and Clearwater River in Fort McMurray to provide a level of flood protection to the local residents and businesses (including the Heritage Shipyard) within downtown Fort McMurray. The work consists of the deployment of Triple Dams, Muscle Walls, and sandbags where required. The work is typically set up over the course of March, in preparation for river break season. The timing of river break varies every year but can happen any time from early April to early May. Following the declaration of river break up, the scope of work includes the tear-down and demobilization of the works, site clean-up, and landscape restoration of disturbed areas. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the planning, mobilization, supply, set up and filling of all materials, equipment, labour (including stand-by), supervision, implementation, inspection, maintenance, protection, execution, monitoring, repairs (as required), quality control, and removal, restoration and demobilization of all measures required to maintain the seasonal flood mitigation works.
