Site work for a water / sewer project in Kings Bay Base, Georgia. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This request seeks industry input for market research and planning purposes regarding the feasibility of using mechanical and/or cutter suction dredges to perform maintenance dredging within the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Entrance Channel. Information is requested on operational feasibility inland of channel station 71+00 Cut-1N, risks associated with operating in areas with strong tidal currents, and recommended mitigation measures, equipment types, and dredge configurations. Respondents are also asked to provide estimated time required to demobilize and remobilize mechanical and/or cutter suction dredges and supporting plant to allow passage of naval vessels, identify factors that could delay demobilization and potential mitigation strategies, and indicate whether allowing mechanical and/or cutter suction dredges would affect the likelihood of bidding should the requirement be solicited. The information collected will assist the Government in evaluating alternatives to hopper dredge operations, which are currently limited to a seasonal work window. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
