The purpose of this project is to remodel and renovate the existing White Hall Classroom Building located on the University of Kentucky Campus. White Hall is a 161,589 SF, 3 story with a basement concrete framed structurer. The basement is a selective construction, the first floor will house the Lecture Halls, and Floors 2 and 3 will be primarily for Classrooms. The iconic exterior of White Hall will also be receiving a quality restoration. Upon the completion of construction UK students will be reintroduced to an up to date exterior, and an improved interior offering state of the art lecture halls, classrooms, collaborative spaces, auditoriums, and micro-market. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder as a condition of the contract. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders, General Conditions and Special Conditions. Should any of these references disagree, the Special Conditions prevail. The University of Kentucky, Construction Procurement Section, reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all formalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the University may be served.
