Site work for a mixed-use development in Milk River, Alberta. Design plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Campground Infrastructure Improvements: This includes replacing the lift station servicing the shower building and camp store, upgrading pumps, installing a new force main from the shower building to the on-site treatment field, and replacing and/or expanding the existing field. Replacement of Aging On-Site Wastewater Systems: The wastewater systems serving the maintenance office, mobile home, and residence have likely surpassed their expected lifespan. It is recommended that all three systems and their associated infrastructure be replaced. Sani-Dump Station Wastewater On-Site Wastewater System: Installed in 2005, the dump station system has encountered an issue with manhole backups, as identified by operations and maintenance staff. Further investigation and repairs are recommended to determine the cause of the backup, as the system is still within its expected lifespan. In addition, AFP is exploring the possibility of expanding campground facilities by adding 30 equestrian-specific camping sites within the Aisinai'pi management unit. TIMELINE: A Wastewater system refurbishment plan report was expected to be completed in October, 2025. Detailed design and IFT documents are to be completed by May, 2026. *Budget is unreleased.
