The City of Quincy aims to partner with an established company to undertake small landscape improvements projects in our parks. Work shall consist of various small construction and landscaping tasks including minor grading and filling, masonry, plantings, and bench installations The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials and equipment and have the expertise, knowledge, skill and capacity to perform all services required under the contract. The Contractor must own or be able to access all necessary equipment needed to perform duties under this contract. The Scope shall consist of the implementation of small parklet designs provided by the City of Quincy and its agents. The designs will include landscaping and light masonry. Contractor will work alongside City personnel on various tasks to include small machine operation, hand grading, spreading loam, spreading mulch, planting trees, planting shrubs, planting flowers and bulbs, installing sod, adding hardscape to include benches and decorative masonry. The projects will be relatively small in nature and each one should not require more than 3-4 people for a duration of more than 4-5 days per job. A 5% bid bond is required for the total value of the bid in the form of a bid bond or certified/treasurer's check. A 50% payment bond will be required upon award of the contract. (The payment bond amount should be included in the quote price.) This project is being quoted under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30 & 39M, and the minimum wage rates as issued by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, Department of Labor Standards shall apply. It is the responsibility of the Bidders, before Bid opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under the resulting contract.
