Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Sunnyvale, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 82,500-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Project is generally described as new construction for an elementary school consisting of 5 new buildings. The district intends to construct the Project by awarding the prime contract to a prime contractor who is in direct privity of contract with the district for a specific scope of Work. COMPLETED: Increment I: Underground utilities and rough grading for building pads. THIS BID: Increment II: Provide 5 buildings includes: Building A - Administration, Classroom buildings B, C & D and building E for MPR with site work, landscape and hardscape, field and playground & play structures, parking lots and drop off areas. Overall value is $88 million, value of this phase is not yet known. Contact the District's Construction Manager with questions at chodgson@scmdinc.com Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20111.5, only prequalified bidders will be eligible to submit a bid for this Project. A bid submitted by a bidder who is not prequalified shall be non-responsive and returned unopened to the bidder. The prequalification process will be facilitated by and independent firm utilizing an online application web site. The web site address for online applications is at online. Bid Security must accompany each Bid Proposal in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of the Bid Proposal, inclusive of the proposed price for any additive Alternate Bid Item(s). Failure of any Bid Proposal to be accompanied by Bid Security in the form and in the amount required shall render such Bid Proposal to be non-responsive and rejected by the District. Bid Security must be submitted in one of the alternative means of Bid Security submittal (including electronic submittal) described in the Instructions to Bidders. Prior to commencement of the Work, the Bidder awarded a Bid Package Contract must deliver to the District a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond issued by a California Admitted Surety in the form and content included in the Contract Documents in a penal sum equal to 100% of the Contract Price. Bid Proposals must include the premium cost of Payment and Performance Bonds. The District requires that Bidders possess the classification(s) of California Contractors License designated for each Bid Package as set forth above. Any Bidder not so duly and properly licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law. No payment will be made until the Registrar of Contractors verifies to the District that the Bidder awarded a Bid Package Contract is properly and duly licensed to perform the Work. Bid Proposals shall not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of 45 days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall pay not less than the applicable prevailing wage rate for the classification of labor provided by their respective workers in prosecution and execution of the Work. A Contract, if awarded, will be by action of the District's Board of Education to the responsible Bidder submitting the lowest priced responsive Bid Proposal for a Bid Package. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bid Proposal or in the bidding. PN - 2022-1312
