More specifically, the project is located at the Marana Water Reclamation Facility at 14393 N. Luckett Road, Marana, AZ, 85653, and the adjacent parcel to the east, Pima County Parcel Number 208-09-010K. The work is within the jurisdictional limits of the Town on property owned by the Town. Background The Town owns and operates the Marana Water Reclamation Facility. Over the last ten years, the Town has experienced a significant population growth rate of over 40% and currently provides water to more than 19,000 people. To provide sufficient treatment capacity for anticipated continued growth and development in the area, the Town plans to expand the Marana WRF from a capacity of 1.5 mgd (achieved with the previous expansion) to 3.0 mgd and to expand Recharge Basins from a capacity of 2.0 mgd to an expected 4.0 mgd. The WRF Phase II Expansion Work includes adding a new headworks channel and grit removal, one new aeration basin and associated blowers, expanding the RAS/WAS pump station, one new secondary clarifier, upgrading the filter backwashing system, adding one new sludge storage tank, a new administration building, expanding standby power generation, expanding the non-potable water system, and upsizing the treated water basin. The Recharge Facility Phase II Expansion Work includes addition of three new recharge basins. Infrastructure, including piping, valves, and a diversion structure, will be constructed to allow discharge of water from the Santa Cruz River Effluent Recharge Project into one or more of the recharge basins. Construction of the Recharge Facility expansion will be funded through a WIFA grant, which stipulates a construction end date of June 30, 2026. Due to the different funding sources and schedule drivers for the WRF and Recharge Facility expansions, they will be provided as separate, standalone design packages.
