The project generally consists of supplying all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to install various security enhancement features throughout the Marana Public Safety Facility and Marana Municipal Complex surrounding campus with intent of matching the existing site display. SCOPE OF WORK The project generally consists of supplying all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to install various security enhancement features throughout the Marana Public Safety Facility and Marana Municipal Complex surrounding campus with intent of matching the existing site display. The project includes a Base Bid (identified as project Plan Areas of Work 5 - 12), Additive Alternate No. 1 (identified as project Plan Area of Work 13), and Additive Alternate No. 2 (identified as project Plan Areas of Work 1 - 4) as specified in Appendix A, B, C and D. The scope of work for the Base Bid located at the complex courtyard includes electrical conduit trenching, conductors, and pull boxes; installation of new lighting fixtures and poles with receptacles as well as wall mount fixtures; new directional monument sign with electrical changeable message board; steel planter with concrete seating structure; demolition work with removal and replacement of existing bollards, concrete flatwork, and paver bricks; new handrail, decorative landscape boulders, and concrete sidewalk apron; installation of new fixed, removable, and lighted stainless steel security bollards, and other miscellaneous work. The scope of work for Bid Additive Alternate No. 1 involves demolition of some existing curb and asphalt for the installation of two new electrical security drop gates with badge swipe access, and including all necessary appurtenances and features identified in the project plan details and specifications related to Area of Work 13. This work is located at the entrance to the Marana employee parking lot and includes electrical conduit trenching, extension of an existing curb island and more. The scope of work for Bid Additive Alternate No. 2 consists of the installation of both fixed and removable stainless steel security bollards, and decorative boulders at campus perimeter areas adjacent to West Civic Center Drive. Existing landscape irrigation components encountered during demolition, trenching or excavation operations will need to be cut and capped or relocated as necessary to accommodate installation of the new elements. There is a bid item allowance in the Base Bid for the costs associated with this work. The construction will take place on an active campus during normal business hours making pedestrian safety paramount. Traffic control signs, barricades, and protective devices will be necessary at times for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Work shall be performed in accordance with Arizona 811 Regulations and Title 12-7 of Marana Town Code. Be reminded that existing utility pothole locating will be necessary to protect utility facilities in-place during the work. Potholing is considered incidental to the work and there will be no separate payment thereof. The Owner's Contingency item listed in the Base Bid schedule is for the sole use of the owner and is not obligated to be used for payment to the contractor. The Contractor is directed to the Special Provisions for additional requirements of the project.
