Site work for a water / sewer project in Galveston, Texas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The scope of this contract is to perform maintenance dredging with a Hopper Dredge of the Bayport Ship Channel Flare and adjacent Houston Ship Channel main stem. Approx. 1,500,000 Cubic Yards (CYs) will be placed in a designated ocean dredged material disposal site. An option will be included to dredge Houston Ship Channel from Redfish to Beacon 78 with an estimated amount of 700,000 CYs; and a second option will re-dredge Bayport Flare with an estimated amount of 300,000 CYs. o Contractor should be familiar with the traffic weather conditions in open bays similar to the Houston Ship Channel. o Contractor should provide experience as a prime contractor performing hopper dredging of deep draft navigation channels. o Contractor should demonstrate experience producing at least 20,000 CYs per day utilizing a hopper trailing suction dredge on a deep draft navigation contract. Complete the entire work ready for use not later than 100 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed. An additional time of 120 days will be provided for both options. In accordance with FAR 36/DFARs 236, the estimated construction price range for this project is: Between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Bonding Requirements: Performance and Payment Bonds are required within Five (5) calendar days after award and the contractor shall begin work within Ten (10) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
