Renovation of a detention facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Working plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

**As of February 14,2025 bid were rejected . No definite date for the rebid.** Security Improvements at a Judicial Branch location in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The Contractor shall, at minimum, provide the following: Replacement of the PLC detention access control system and intercom system, lighting controls, keying and some hardware replacement and other work as detailed in the bid documents. In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes section 4b-92, every general bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid price where the bid price exceeds $49,999.99. Bids submitted without the required bid bond or certified check shall be rejected. For any contract that exceeds $49,999.99 a Performance Bond is required. The Contractor shall submit a Performance Bond in an amount equal to the total contract price. Failure to deliver said Performance Bond within ten (10) business days of the date of the notice of award shall nullify and void such award. Pursuant to General Statutes Section 49-41(a), for any contract that exceeds $100,000, the contractor must furnish a bond in the contract amount for the protection of persons supplying labor or materials hereunder. Any such bond shall have as principal the name of the person awarded the contract and shall be binding upon the award of the contract to that person. For any contract that is estimated to exceed $500,000. All phases are to be substantially completed and ready for occupancy within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days from issuance of a purchase order. Any delay in the completion of the work beyond this time period will interfere with the daily operation and business at this site. As such, time is of the essence in completing the work. Moreover, it is impracticable to fix the actual damage sustained as a result of such a delay. In the event that the work is not completed on or before this time period, the Judicial Branch shall be entitled to receive as damages $500 per calendar day until the work is completed. The Contractor agrees that it will pay such amount as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, and that such sum is reasonable. We reserve the right to reject in whole or in part, any or all bids submitted. Replacement of the PLC detention access control system and intercom system, lighting controls, keying, some hardware replacement and other work detailed in the Contract Documents.
