This Design-Build (DB) project addresses drainage improvements in the Runway 7-25 (RW 7-25) infield area at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The scope includes designing and constructing storm drain infiltration basins and repairing the existing storm drain system, which currently causes ponding water that attracts birds and poses hazards to aircraft operations. The project aims to enhance drainage efficiency by replacing existing catch basins, manholes, and storm drain pipes, constructing new infiltration basins, demolishing certain underground storm drain pipes, and installing new storm drain infrastructure. It also involves replacing existing subgrade with more permeable materials such as cobblestone infiltration material. All work must comply with applicable United Facilities Criteria (UFC), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards, and other relevant codes and regulations. This is a two-phase DB Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) project, competed as a 100% Small Business Set Aside under NAICS Code 237110, using a Best Value Trade Off Source Selection process. The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days and complete it within 365 calendar days.
