Reference Number 0000367696 The City of Melvindale is accepting proposals for the design and construction of a secondary one-million-gallon storage tank at the sanitary pump station located at 3390 Greenfield Road. The primary one-million gallon storage tank was installed in 2006 at this location, along with stub-outs for the inlet and outlet of the secondary storage tank. The project scope for the secondary storage tank will include, but may not be limited to the items listed below. This work shall be paid for according to the measurement and methods of payment section of this contract, and will include all transportation, labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the work as indicated below: General Scope Install new one-million-gallon storage tank (epoxy-coated carbon steel or glass fused steel), including tank and foundation design, transportation, and construction Reconstruct chlorination manhole to include chlorine feeder tube with threaded cap Install 18" ductile iron sanitary sewer pipe to connect new tank to existing outlet bulkhead Install 16" ductile iron force main to connect new tank to existing inlet bulkhead Install sheet pile on north side of new tank for bank protection and on south side of new tank to protect existing force main The anticipated start date, weather permitting, is March 31, 2025 and substantially completed by August 21, 2026 with final completion by September 4, 2026.
