Scope of work to be performed The services requested are as follows A. Complete a comprehensive structural analysis of the following areas; the foundation, first floor, third floor and front porch. B. In-depth analysis of the following areas should be provided in the report as well, with similar recommendations on repair cost estimates, design documents and drawings. 1. Localized First Floor Excessive Deflection The 2x 6 joist size, span, and spacing is not adequate for residential live loading of 40 psf let alone assembly live loading of 100 psf. Loading has resulted in visible excessive deflection. The 2x 9 joists are currently compromised per cracking failure. Given span and anticipated assembly type loading, Silman recommends the floor area either be reconstructed or strengthened. Further analysis must be performed to determine the final floor strengthening strategy. The City of Coldwater is accepting bids for a contract for a Structural Engineering Assessment of the Beech House located at 11 E. Chicago St. Coldwater, MI, which is leased by the Coldwater Community Center, Inc. (CCC) Completion Date All work must be completed by August 1, 2026.
