Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Cheshire, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the construction of a 115,000-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for paving for a educational facility.
This project consists of the construction of the New North End Elementary School located in Cheshire, Connecticut. This new two-story steel-framed Pre-K to 6th Grade elementary school totals approximately 115,000 SF. The majority of site grading to construct the new building pad was performed during the Phase 1 Site Enabling effort. Also, the major electrical equipment, i.e. switchgear, panelboards and emergency generator & ATS, has been prepurchased, to be installed during this Phase 2. Major sitework includes completion of the new building pad, construction of a geothermal well field, new drives and parking lots, playgrounds and new utility services (electric and water). Construction is scheduled to commence late December 2024 with completion of the new school and all sitework in Summer 2026. Bidders should note that a second new elementary school project located in Cheshire, the New Norton Elementary School, will also be bidding and will be constructed simultaneously with this new North End Elementary School. (860) 626-6418 or email lorelpurcell@ogind.com. The Owner, Town of Cheshire, has contracted with O&G Industries to serve as the Construction Manager (CM). All terms and conditions of the Owner's contract with the CM are expressly incorporated herein and made a part hereof. The Owner/CM contract is included in the Bid Document No oral, telephone or electronic proposals will be considered. All bids shall stand available for acceptance for a period of ninety (90) days from the date proposals are received. The Owner or its Designee reserves the right to reject any or all bids, without stating reasons therefor, including without limitation the right to reject any or all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids and to reject the bid of any bidder if the Owner or its Designee believes that it would not be in the best interest of the Owner or the project to make an award to that bidder, whether because the bid is not responsive or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standard or criteria established by the Owner or its Designee. The Owner or its Designee reserves the right to waive informalities or non-material deficiencies in a proposal, and award the proposal to the proposer that, in the Town's sole discretion and judgment, will be in the Town's best interests, and to negotiate contract terms with one or more bidders without reopening the bidding process insofar as such negotiations are not violative of applicable competitive bidding statutes or law. In evaluating bids, the Owner or its Designee will consider the qualifications of bidder, including past performance, whether or not the bids comply with the prescribed requirements, and such alternates, unit prices, and other data, as may be requested in the Form of Proposal or prior to Notice of Award.
