Demolition, site work, new construction and addition to a library in Pomfret Ctr, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the addition of a library; for the demolition of a library; for the construction of a library; and for site work for a library.

As of January 13, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Each bid shall be signed by the bidder and accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond payable to the Town of Pomfret in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid proposal. Bids must be held firm for ninety (90) days beyond the bid opening date. The successful bidder must file a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond, a one hundred percent (100%) Labor & Materials Bond and a Certificate of Insurance with the Purchasing Agent within ten (10) days of notice of bid award. For new construction projects over $1,000,000 and remodel/maintenance projects over $100,000, contractors must comply with State Prevailing Fair Wage Provisions (C.G.S. 31-53). Prospective bidders must be prequalified in accordance with C.G.S. 4a-100. In accordance with Connecticut General Statute Sections 4a-100 and 4b-91, a responsible bid must contain two (2) documents: The Contractor Prequalification Certificate and the Update (Bid) Statement. The classification GENERAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTION (GROUP B) is required as a minimum. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements enforced by the CHRO. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification as Small Business Enterprises (SBE) from the CT Department of Administrative Services (DAS). A minimum of six and one-quarter percent (6.25%) of the state-funded portion must be set aside for subcontractors holding current DAS certification as Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned businesses (M/W/DisBE). The Contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the twenty-five percent (25%) setaside goals. Bids shall be submitted in duplicate, including a pdf file of all materials. The Town of Pomfret reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part thereof, or to waive any informality in bidding if it is determined to be in the best interest of the Town of Pomfret for whatever reason.
