The Town of Wethersfield is seeking proposals from chain link fencing contractors to provide chain link fencing services around the perimeter of the multi-use artificial turf field (Cottone Field) located at 411 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT. This project includes installing vinyl coated athletic field chain link fence and required posts, gates, and fence products as well as a crushed stone mow strip along the fence perimeter. The purpose of the project is to install approximately 720 linear feet of 4' x 50' 9-gauge black vinyl coated athletic field chain link fence with posts, four 4' x 12' sliding track gates, three 4' x 4' pedestrian swing gates and approximately 800 linear feet of crushed stone mow strip at Cottone Field which is located directly behind Wethersfield High School at 411 Wolcott Hill Road, Wethersfield, CT. The Town of Wethersfield has developed the following scope of work for this project. Any sizes or estimates of quantities are approximate and are not guaranteed in any respect. The contractor will need to include quantities in their proposal. The contractor will perform the following chain link fencing work and stone mow strip around the perimeter of the multi-use synthetic turf field. A. Install approximately 720 linear feet of 4' x 50' 9-gauge black vinyl coated athletic field chain link fence and required posts, tension bars, caps, bands, top rails, brace bands, and rail ends. All associated products should be black. B. Install four 4' x 12' wire mesh sliding track gates along with associated bar bracing, latch post and slide track hardware systems. C. Install three 4' x 4' black vinyl coated chain link pedestrian swing gates along with associated hinge baring, latch post and commercial hardware systems. D. Furnish and install approximately 800 linear feet of stone mow strip along the perimeter chain link fence. Mow strip to consist of 4" x 12" crushed stone along with geotextile fabric underlayment and metal edging. Prospective Contractors should visit the site to verify scope of the work, measurements, quantities, etc., prior to submitting their proposal. Contractor estimate must include all labor, required materials tools, equipment, plans, mobilization, permits, insurances, etc. as per the specification required to properly complete the Project. The successful contractor should have staff that possess adequate experience in the use and operation of the equipment and machinery as specified. Responses to questions will be listed on the town website no later than Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Project can begin any time after the fall sports season ends (around December 2, 2024) and preferred to be completed by the start of spring sports season (around March 8, 2025). Otherwise the project will need to begin after the 2024-2025 school year ends. Coordinate with town staff on starting date for field work.
