Renovation of a museum in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 3,360-square-foot, two-story above grade museum.
The Town of Wethersfield (Town) and the Wethersfield Historical Society (WHS) are seeking proposals from qualified architecture and engineering firms in regard to the Old Academy renovation project, located at 150 Main Street in Wethersfield. The Town owns this building and has a long-term tenant, the WHS. The Town is seeking consulting services for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services in addition to architecture services for the development of updated systems that will provide appropriate HVAC and humidity control for the building and archival materials and records. Architectural services are being requested for an updated design and layout of the space that will suit the needs of the WHS. The Town of Wethersfield is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. The project is funded, in part, by grant funds from the Historic Preservation Fund of the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, as administered by the Department of Economic and Community Development, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and state funds from the Community Investment Account, as administered by the SHPO. The remainder of funding is both internal and partially federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.
