Introduction City of Keene, NH n The City of Keene looks forward to receiving qualifications from talented individuals and teams who can contribute to the beautification of Central Square and foster a spirit of peace and unity within the community. The City of Keene, New Hampshire, invites qualified artists, designers, and contractors to submit their qualifications for the creation of a Peace Fountain in Central Square. This project aims to enhance the aesthetic and cultural value of the square while promoting a message of peace and unity within the community. Project Overview The proposed Peace Fountain will serve as a centerpiece in Central Square, fostering a sense of community and offering a place for reflection and gathering. The fountain should incorporate artistic elements, sustainable practices, and be designed for durability and ease of maintenance. Additionally, the City of Keene has a sister city relationship with Einbeck, Germany, which may serve as inspiration for the design, encouraging cross cultural dialogue and collaboration in promoting global peace. The fountain will be created in the existing footprint of the current structure. This project is being funded by local non-profit service organizations Keene Rotary Club, Elm City Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of Keene, Keene Lions Club, and the Monadnock Interfaith Coalition. Together they brought forward a request for a peace pole in Central Square and became interested in the possibility of creating a fountain in the existing location.
