Specialized Maintenance Requirements Include Annual Vege- Tation Trimming in Boston and Cambridge for the Head of the Charles Regatta, and Other Tasks as Indicated on Docu- Ments Provided by Dcr. The Work is to Be Accomplished Within 730 Calendar Days of a Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages in the Amount of $500.00 Per Day Will Be Assessed if the Work Has Not Been Completed in Accordance With the Provisions of the Contract Within the Time Specified (as Extended by Any Authorized Extension of Time Granted in Accordance With the Contract Provisions). Bidders Must Be Pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Dept. Of Transportation (Massdot) Highway Division in: _landscaping Including Tree Planting to Bid on the Above Project. An Award Will Not Be Made to a Contractor Who is Not Pre-qualified by Massdot Prior to the Opening of Proposals. The Proposed Contract Includes a Combined Requirement of 10.4% of the Bid Price for Minority-owned Business Enter- Prises and Women-owned Business Enterprises. Proposed Mbe/wbe Plans That Include Solely Mbe or Solely Wbe , or Do Not Include a Reasonable Amount by Both Mbe and Wbe Firms to Meet the Combined Requirements, Will Not Be Considered Responsive. The Applicable Local Minority Workforce Utilization Percent- Age is a Minimum Goal of 15.3%. The Applicable Local Wom- en Workforce Utilization Percentage is a Minimum Goal of 6.9%. The Commonwealth Requires Participation of Veter- an-owned Business Enterprises ("vobe") on Its Construc- Tion Projects. The Veteran-owned Business Enterprise Par- Ticipation Benchmark for This Contract is 3.0%. Each Bid Must Be Accompanied by a Bid Deposit, in the Form of a Bid Bond, Cash, Certified Check, or a Treasurer's or Cashier's Check Issued by a Responsible Bank or Trust Company, Payable to the Department of Conservation and Recreation in the Amount of 5% of the Bid. Each Bid Must Be Submitted Through Dcr's E-bid Room at online. Please en- Sure That Your Bid is Complete and Marked as Responsive When Submitting Through Dcr's Bid Room. Any Bids Found to Be Incomplete and/or Marked Unresponsive Will Be Re- Jected by Dcr and Will Not Be Considered When Awarding the Project. The Estimated Project Cost is $.2,500,000.00 This 2-yr Contract Consists of Regular and Specialized Land- Scape Maintenance Including Plant and Tree Installation and Care, General Landscape Maintenance Including Seasonal Clean Ups, Meadow Seeding and Care, Natural Turf/ Lawn Installation and Care, and Invasive Species Removal. Bids Are Subject to the Provisions of M.g.l. Ch. 30, Sect. 39f, G, H and M Inclusive. Wages Are Subject to Minimum Wage Rates as Per M.g.l. Ch. 149, Sections 26 to 27d Inclusive. The Department Reserves the Right to Waive Any Informal- Ities in or to Reject Any and All Bids if It Be in the Public Interest to Do So. Brian M. LOCATION OF WORK A. This is an Eastern Massachusetts Contract. Most sites are located inside Route 128, however there may be work as far west as Worcester County, and the DCR North and South regions. 1.2 SCOPE OF WORK A. This contract includes landscape improvements including but not limited to removals, installations, and maintenance of landscape projects B. Attention is directed to the CONTRACT AND GENERAL CONDITIONS which are hereby made a part of this Section of the Specifications. C. Examine all other Sections of the Specifications for requirements which affect work of this Section, whether or not such work is specifically mentioned in this Section. D. Coordinate work with that of all other trades or contracts affecting or affected by work of this Section. Cooperate with such trades to assure the steady progress of all work under the Contract.
