The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Scope of Work This project involves constructing a multilane roundabout at the intersection of US 97 and Lateral A Road. Key components of the roundabout will include splitter islands, a central island, truck aprons, and appropriate delineation to guide traffic safely through the intersection. Drainage features will be an integral part of the roundabout design. Four new catch basins will be installed: two along the truck apron at the southwest corner and one at each end of the splitter island. Additionally, scuppered curb will be placed 1.5 feet off the edge line on the shoulder to slow down traffic entering the roundabout. The scuppers in the curb will allow runoff to pass through, where it will return to sheet flow across the seven-foot shoulder behind the curb and gravel spreader. A mountable curb will be installed along the splitter islands, truck aprons, and the center island. This curb has been analyzed for gutter flow and inlet spacing, with catch basins strategically placed to convey stormwater from the gutter to the biofiltration swale. Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater management will include natural dispersion and a biofiltration swale. Stormwater will sheet flow off the shoulder, passing through the gravel spreader before naturally dispersing on the embankment slope. The biofiltration swale will collect stormwater via direct sheet flow runoff from the roadway and from catch basins collecting runoff from rolled curbing, ensuring proper stormwater management.
