Renovation of a water / sewer project in Laurel, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Demolition and replacement of potassium permanganate feeder/dissolver with associate electrical and control systems. Also, the replacement of potassium permanganate and powder activated carbon solution piping up to injection points in various vaults. A. This Section includes general requirements for work. B. Major elements of Work include but are not limited to: 1. Demolition and replacement of potassium permanganate feeder/dissolver with associated electrical and controlsystemsin the Pretreatment Building located at 7400 Brooklyn Bridge Road in Laurel, Maryland. 2. Replacement of potassium permanganate and powder activated carbon solution piping up to injection points in Vaults A, C, and G and manholes MH-1 and CMH-1 in the adjacent yard. Section includes general requirements and procedures related to preparation and transmittal of Submittals to include Schedules, Contractor's Drawings, Samples, Manuals, Methods of Construction, and Record Drawings to Engineer demonstrating performance of Work. Other requirements for submittals are specified under applicable sections of the Specifications. Section includes requirements, procedures, and methods related to responsibilities for providing temporary erosion and sediment control for land-disturbing activities. 1. Land-disturbing activity: Earth movement and land change that may result in soil erosion from water, wind, or movement of sediments into State waters or onto State lands, including but not limited to tilling, clearing, stripping, grading, excavating, filling, and related activities, and covering of land with impermeable material. This Section includes requirements for providing normal weight cast-in-place concrete to the sizes and shapes and at the locationsindicated, in accordance with ACI 301, asmodified and supplemented herein, and in accordance with the Contract Documents. A. Section Includes: 1. Application for new facilities construction. 2. Performance requirements for materials to be supplied, the requirements for furnishing materials, the preparation of surface the paint will be applied to, the application procedures for painting, and quality assurance. 3. Details of requirements for each Coating System located in the project Painting Schedule, which identifies items to be painted, coating system, and service conditions attached to this section or Drawings. 4. Paint manufacturer's recommended practices on application, use, and cure of given coating. a. Use most stringent specification if there is a discrepancy between this section and the manufacturer's recommendation. B. Coating System: Surface preparation and application of specified paints for given service. A. This Section includes general administrative and procedural requirements for warranties required by the Contract Documents, including manufacturer's standard warranties on products and special warranties. B. Refer to General Conditions for the general requirements relating to warranties. C. Specific requirements for warranties for the Work and products and installations that are specified to be warranted, are included in the individual Sections of Division 2 through 16. D. Certifications and other commitments and agreements for continuing services to the Commission are specified in General Conditions and the individual Sections of Division 2 through 16.
