Renovation of a municipal facility in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project involves replacing the existing rack refrigeration air cooler unit (CU-1) with a new unit of the same capacity, including recovering and disposing of refrigerant, removing the old system, and installing necessary components such as piping, electrical connections, insulation, and ductwork. The contractor is responsible for ensuring the integrity of reused refrigerant piping, conducting leak tests, and adhering to code requirements, while also providing and installing additional system components like condensate piping, transitions, and protective insulation. The contractor must also handle all permits, finishes, and post-installation requirements, including submitting plans for approval. The replacement of existing rack refrigeration air cooler unit (CU-1) for same capacity size new rack refrigeration air cooler unit per the attached drawings. Recover the remaining refrigerant in the existing system. Remove existing system and dispose of as per EPA guidelines. Contractor shall provide any new condensate piping, electrical connections, curbs, ductwork, insulation, dryers, labor, and materials as necessary. Install new bally rack system on the existing concrete slab. Utilize existing refrigerant lines, electrical disconnect. Leak test- flush and evacuate system to remove any contaminants. Existing refrigerator rack unit RACRR-1 to be replaced. 2 existing refrigerant piping and supports to be reused. It will be the mechanical contractor's responsibility to make sure existing piping is free of leaks. Cut refrigerant piping close to unit and cap as required for connection of new unit. Reuse existing refrigerant piping and pipe supports for new unit if they are in good condition, otherwise replace with new. Extent of demolition is required to be verified in the field. The mechanical contractor shall be responsible for reclaiming refrigerant as required. Provide and install necessary transitions and ductwork increaser/reducers as required for equipment connections. Consult manufacturer's data for actual connection sizes, including, but not limited to those shown. Provide insulation protectors at hangers for all insulated piping. Contractor to provide and install steam steel finish cabinet. Contractor to provide 5-year compressor only warranty. Contractor to provide coastal coating of the condenser unit Contractor to provide submittals to the City's Project Manager for review and approval prior to installation. Contractor is responsible for acquiring all necessary permits for the job and required documentation for such. City will only provide the attached drawings. Contractor will not be required to pay permit fees as this is a City project. Contractor is responsible for all finishes to include but not limited to drywall & concrete repair, painting, flooring, trim work associated with this work and shall leave all work areas in the same or better condition than they were originally. Provide equipment, access and clearances required for servicing as per Florida mechanical code 2023 and as per manufacturer's recommendations. All equipment shall be provided with vibration isolators and installed as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. The outside condenser unit for all walk-in coolers at City Center is due for replacement. Upgrading to a unit with the appropriate stainless housing will ensure long-term durability and performance. A Proposal Security shall be required, only for bidders that have a total cumulative base proposal amount that exceeds $200,000. Proposal Security shall be in the amount of 5% of the total cumulative base amount proposed. Payment and Performance Bonds shall only be required for any individual projects that are over $200,000 and that are assigned to the awarded contractor. Issuance of Notice to Proceed (NTP): January 29, 2025 The work shall be completed within 90 calendar days from issuance of the City's Notice to Proceed (NTP), with an estimated start date of February 1, 2025. Liquidated damages for this project shall be FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($500.00) per day. Question Deadline 12/03/2024 at 11:30 AM ET Issuance of Final Answers to Questions: December 9, 2024.
