The project includes, but is not limited to, the installation of a new package lift station, demolition of existing lift station pumps, piping, valves and electrical components. The new package lift station is comprised of a prefabricated FRP pump station insert inside existing wetwell, and all related piping and electrical components, including electrical panel, control panel, and telemetry antenna. The City will provide a telemetry panel to be installed by the Contractor. Bypass pumping will also be required during the construction of this Lift Station improvement. A cashier's check or bank draft, payable to the City of Benton City, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to enter into a formal contract that is consistent with industry standards. A draft of the contract document is included in the Invitation to Bid for review. The City reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, whether they meet the maximum total Contract price or not, and to waive any informality in the Bids received whenever such rejection or waiver is in the interest of the City. The City also reserves the right to reject the Bid of any Bidder who has previously failed to properly perform or complete contracts of a similar nature on time, who is not in a position to fulfill the Contract, or who has habitually neglected payment of bills or disregarded obligations to subcontractors, material suppliers, or employees without just cause. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days, subsequent to the opening of Bids, without the consent of both the Owner and the Bidder.
