construction of JOINT OUTFALL D UNIT 4 TRUNK SEWER REHABILITATION, located in the Cities of Carson, Torrance and Unincorporated Los Angeles County, California. The work consists of rehabilitating approximately 7,836 feet of 27 to 54inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) on the Joint Outfall D Unit 4 Trunk Sewer, Main Street Relief Trunk Sewer and District 5 Interceptor Trunk Sewer with cured in place pipe liners. The project will also rehabilitate approximately twentythree (23) manholes and structures with a protective coating system, modify eight (8) manholes and structures, and construct one (1) new manhole, and all appurtenant work. All bids must be fully transmitted by the date and time specified . The Districts is not responsible for electronic or Internet Service Provider (ISP) transmission interruptions/delays of any kind. Site visit info : To attend the jobsite walkthrough, each attendee shall review the District's "COVID19 Screening Policy" in the Reference Documents prior to arrival at the site. Wearing face masks and practicing social distancing during the walkthrough are strongly recommended. The last day for submitting questions to the District will be close of business 5 working days prior to the bid opening date. Each bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond with an approved surety company as surety, payable to Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 2 or other authorized security provided by Public Contract Code20784, for an amount equal to at least ten percent of the amount bid as a guaranty that the bidder, if successful, will enter into a contract satisfactory to the Board of Directors for completing the work contemplated. The electronic bid shall include an electronic copy of the certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, or the Bidder may provide a bid bond authorization code provided to them by Surety2000, which the bidder shall keep in effect until the District gives notice that it may be released. The original must be provided to the District within three (3) working days of the time of electronic bid opening. The successful bidder must file good and sufficient bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen. Bonds for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of laborers and materialmen that are issued by sureties that are listed in the latest version of the U.S Department of Treasury Circular 570 and that are authorized to issue bonds in the State of California, and whose bonding limitation shown in the circular is sufficient to provide bonds in the amount of the contract, will be deemed approved unless specifically rejected. Bonds issued by all other sureties are subject to approval by the Board of Directors and must be accompanied by all of the documents enumerated in California Code of Civil Procedure 995.660(a), as amended. At the time of bid, the Contractor shall possess a valid California Contractor's License in one of the following classifications: GENERAL ENGINEERING "A", "C34", or "C42" At the request and expense of the Contractor, securities equivalent to the amount withheld from progress payments may be deposited with the District or with a state or federally chartered bank as the escrow agent, who shall, during the performance of the work, hold such instruments in the name of the District, and return such securities to the Contractor upon satisfactory completion of the contract. The Board of Directors may reject all bids. Unless all bids are rejected, award will be made to the low, responsive, responsible bidder. The work of construction must be completed within 240 WORKING DAYS after the date in the Notice to Proceed. Est. Value Notes: $7,600,000 - $11,400,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
