Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bristol, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Walley School Rehabilitation /Reuse Reference Number 0000368290 Rehabilitation for reuse of the former Walley School to create a Community Resources and Senior Center, located at 260 High Street, Bristol, RI 02809. The scope of work includes limited building envelope restoration, exterior entry repairs, and interior finishes on the first floor and adjacent spaces. This building is a major contributor to a National Historic District and careful attention should be given to protecting and preserving all elements of this building according to the documents. Periodic reviews by HPHC and Local Historic will be performed. The building is currently under construction with numerous Owner subcontractors working off of independent contracts with the Town. This work includes site upgrades, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, communications, exterior doors, elevator installation, etc. The selected contractor shall work harmoniously with these existing contractors to provide the Town with a complete project. John Dye at johnd@brewsterthornton.com and Nick Toth at ntoth@bristolri.gov A payment and performance bond on 100% of the proposed contract will be required by the successful bidder within 15 days after the award It is required that all supplies and services provided to the Town comply with applicable governmental laws and regulations. Any payment discount offered shall be for payment within a period of not less than fifteen (15) days. The work shall meet the requirements and satisfaction of the Town of Bristol, Rhode Island. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Town may require, to reject any or all bid proposals, to waive any technical defect or informality in bids received, and to accept or reject any bid or portion thereof. One copy of these papers is furnished to bidders. One complete copy must be attached to the bid if a bid is tendered. Prevailing Wages: The successful contractor and sub-contractor(s) shall comply with the provisions of Rhode Island General Laws, (RIGL) Chapter 37 pertaining to the "Prevailing Wage Laws" for all municipal funded projects in excess of one thousand ($1,000) dollars. The RI Department of Labor has accepted the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Federal Wage and Hour Division under the Davis-Bacon Act.
